Emergency Paediatric First Aid
This 1-day course offers a variety of emergency first aid situations and teaches how to respond to an emergency involving children. Please note this is the first day of the 2-day paediatric first aid course and partly covers the requirements set out by EYFS and Ofsted. You will need to complete unit two (day 2 of the Paediatric First Aid course) to achieve the full qualification. *Full qualification also available as blended learning*.
This course is FAA (First Aid Awards Ltd) regulated by OFQUAL, provided by NUCO Training and is to the highest first aid training level available.
The Emergency Paediatric First Aid Training course covers the following:
- Responsibilities and Reporting
- Assessing a Situation
- CPR and AED (Automated External Defibrillator)
- Unconscious Casualty
- Choking
- Seizures (Including Febrile Convulsions)
- Bleeding
- Shock
- Anaphylaxis
- Minor Injuries Including Minor Burns.

Assessment and Qualifications:
Continuous observations with practical and theoretical assessments throughout. On completion of the course assessments, delegates will be awarded an FAA certificate regulated by OFQUAL.
All certificates are valid for 3 years from completion of the course.
Cost: £600 for up to 12 delegates
Additional Information
Delegate Numbers:
There is a maximum of 12 delegates per course to meet requirements for the qualification.
Duration:
The course is held over 1 day of 6 hours minimum.
Apparatus used:
We use Laerdal Anne dolls – adult, child and baby, AEDs, bandages, Auto Injectors, slings, face sheilds, First Aid kits, plasters, tweezers, choking vests, gloves, manikin wipes, blankets, floor mats, ice packs.
Infection control:
We have put in place extensive measures to ensure that our clients will be safe during our training and that together we stop the spread.
Refresher:
A refresher session is recommended annually.
Requalification:
To re-qualify you must complete the above 1-day course every 3 years.
Breaks:
There are two 15-minute breaks and a half hour lunch break.
Lunch is not provided, but there are teas and coffees provided throughout the day.
